Awareness is the key for surviving cancer and a lot more things in your life. It feels good to say, ‘Ignorance is Bliss’ but in reality it is not. If you are looking for a treasure you should know what it looks like, right? Though I wouldn’t say the cancerous lump is a treasure, your life is and it depends on you finding it at the right time.
Be aware of the symptoms of cancer and how to detect it in early stages. Do not ignore any changes you will see in your body. Most of the lumps and changes can be non-cancerous, knowing it for sure that it is benial helps a lot.
Just being aware and finding out the problem is not enough. You have to jump into action and find ways to overcome cancer. I know that surgery, chemotherapy and radiation are not very tempting or inviting, but they are the necessities to fight cancer. So, do not hesitate to take action against your enemy. Kill it with a vengeance.
My first thought and question to my doctor after knowing I had third stage cancer was, “What should I do to overcome this?”. He replied, “That attitude of yours is what will help you. Instead of worrying about cancer or its effects on you, your focus is on surviving and life”.
Knowing you have cancer and getting treated is important, but so is doing with a great attitude towards life.
If you ever have an encounter with cancer, do not panic.
Wear the smile, gear up the fight and focus on goals you want to achieve and fight it out tooth and nail to save that treasure called life. I am here after 25 years of fighting it, so can you.
Very glad you decided to join in on the A to Z Challenge! I look forward to reading your posts.
