Are Our Mobile Phones Replacing Other Gadgets?

Remember the days when 3-in-1 meant a cassette player, radio and cassette recorder all rolled in one? The younger generation would not even know about them because soon CDs replaced the cassettes and we had the cassette players combined with CD players in coming years.
When I was checking out the Asus Zenfone 5, I wondered whether our mobile phones are the new generation multipurpose devices that are fast replacing all other gadgets in our everyday lives. I don’t remember carrying my digital camera to any event to capture some memorable moments. My mobile does that job. My calendar, alarm clock and alerts have been set in my mobile as well. I gave away my iPod because there is no need for a separate device to play music when my mobile phone could that. And I am not talking about the latest smart phones. This happened some 2-3 years ago.

How far can technology go with mobile phones? No one can guess, because every we feel we are reaching a stagnation point, something new comes out in the market, which is fortunately affordable as well. Technically speaking Asus Zenfone has 8-MegaPixel AF camera with LED flash and F2.0 Aperture lens, and also a 2-MegaPixel front facing camera with F2.4 Aperture. Keeping technical aspects aside, I decided to check out its practical uses for me. Here I go.

So when I tried to check out what is so unique about the Zenfone 5, I was wonder-struck by the Pixel Master Camera features of this phones which is priced @ less than 9000/- INR which is much more than what I paid for my digital camera a few years ago.

Seeing is believing. Check out the few pictures I have clicked which can tell you more clearly about its features.
It allows you to adjust your facial features, soften your complexion and remove skin blemishes in real-time to create flawless photo. It also smooths out your roughed out features. Wow! See the difference. BTW that was a selfie.

Did you just see something awesome at a distance in fading light? Isn’t it sad that your flash won’t brighten up the spot you wish to capture? Not to worry anymore because Zenfone’s Low Light Camera Mode can capture quite a reasonably good picture when the lights are dimmed.

You can capture only the object you want to, ignoring the background. This will come handy when I am capturing a beautiful flower growing in front of the garbage dump. You also have the option of removing unwanted objects from the picture.
Another interesting feature of Asus Zenfone 5 is the Turbo mode that holds focus and shoots up to 100 shots at about 5fps, at 2MP. It is more interesting to my Animator Rayyan, who can make use of this function for his stop motions clips.

From my terrace, I could capture 360 degrees (PanoSphere Mode) view as well.

Check out the difference between the images of setting sun.

Music

Linkin Park has been a great stress buster in my recent hectic schedule. So how does my good is the music in my smartphone?

I am amazed by the SonicMaster technology which is an audio optimization technology developed by the ASUS Golden Ear Team. The combination of superior hardware and software - uncompromisingly designed to deliver the ultimate sound experience gives music lovers more reason to put on those headphones. Verdict- Satisfied.
